I don’t have time to write out a long blog post today, but I just got back from the gym after getting my body fat checked and was soooooo excited I had to get this up right away. I was expecting to have a good drop in body fat from my last check, but thought I’d be at 25% or 24% at best. I almost fell over when the number came up on the computer screen. He uses a caliper test, but the computer calculates it for you. Dah dah dah…. I am at 22.5% body fat!!! I am so excited. I will probably get it rechecked again after my race, just to monitor where I am and any changes, but not stepping on that dag gone scale any more. Muscle definitely weighs more than fat that’s for sure because the lowest body fat I have been before this was 28% and I actually weighed 5 pounds less then than I do now. I am really glad I am going by body fat for a goal because the scale lies to you. I guess all that weight training paid off (and my running too of course)! Anyhow, I was a little flustered through my whole workout because I was so distracted. I just didn’t know what to do with myself. I guess my new goals will be all fitness oriented.
I am a little nervous about being in the maintenance phase as that has been harder for me than the losing phase, but I *think* with me running and having something goal wise to focus on that should help. I am really excited.
Sweet, sweet victory! Officially at goal!!!

A sweet victory indeed! I am SO HAPPY for you!!! Congratulations!! That’s exciting and inspiring. 🙂 I think you are so right about fitness goals; they do not always have to be the scale! This proves it, right? You go girl!
Great job. That to fantastic. Body fat % is the true test to be sure. Great job.
Terrific! I know you’ve worked hard for this. Isn’t it great to see all the sacrifice and hard work pay off? Congratulations. I’m also glad to see you’re thinking ahead about maintenance, something many people neglect.
Congrats 🙂
Kudos to you!
Victory is sweet indeed!
The weight maintenance is tougher than the weight loss phase but it seems you have your mind and body in the right place so it wouldn’t be that hard 🙂
that is so exciting — way to go!!
Go Teresa! It’s your birthday! Go Teresa! It’s your birthday!!
I’m doin the happy dance for you right now. No, seriously. I am. You’re AWESOME!!! Get down with your bad self 😀
Great Job done there! Now I know you can continue to make all the progress you want. You have to be feeling proud of yourself as we all are of you. Just continue on with what your doing and I am sure the maintainable part will go smoothly as well.
That’s awesome! Bodyfat % is a better indicator, and guess what, you’re in better shape than me! I think you’re doing amazing on your journey :).
