Hi! I’m Teresa. I am a mom to 6 kids and enjoy web design, graphic design, and fitness stuff. I have worked on my weight and exercise off and on throughout my life, but always seem to gain massive amounts of weight when I am pregnant and only after some of them did I manage to take it back off. I am confident that I can take it off. Where I need the most encouragement is keeping it off. After I had my first daughter (my 4th child) I lost about 50 pounds and got down to about 135. I started slacking off and gained about 15 pounds and about the time I decided to get back on track I found out I was pregnant with my 5th child. I tried in the beginning to exercise, but quickly just gave up. I gained 70 pounds with her pregnancy and did not take the weight off after her. I got pregnant with my 6th child weighing about 190ish starting my pregnancy. I honestly didn’t gain that much with him, but I was huge. All belly and all baby! He weighed in at 10 lb 3 oz. I ended my pregnancy at 225 with him and took some off initially and was quickly back to about 215. When I finally started working on my weight again when he was about a year and half old I weighed in at 208 pounds. I have stayed pretty consistant with my diet & exercise since then and it’s been over a year. I still have a little ways to go, but honestly not too far from reaching my final goal. The biggest thing for me right now is to be able to maintain this weight.
Biggest things I have learned
It is worth it! I know when I first started I just didn’t want to do it. It seemed too hard. It seemed like it would take forever. Which I won’t lie. It will take a while if you have a lot of weight, but it is worth it! You can tell yourself it’s just easier to be fat. That’s been the hardest part for me. Once you decide that it’s worth it and you’re worth it everything else is possible! I hope you enjoy my blog and visit often.
Rule #1 for you as a runner: You are the captian of your ship. It does not matter what anyone elses rules, training methods, etc. are. As long as you run in a way that is fun for you, feels good to you, and helps you want to keep running; that is the way you should run.
Thank you so much for your encouragement and excitement. Your comments are awesome and I look forward to each one I recieve. Thanks again.
Regular guy Jason.
Just kidding about the RULE thing. Running is freeing not binding.
Just thought I’d let you know how very inspired your photos make me! Found your blog today (New Year’s) and plan on keeping up w/ your future progress as well as beginning some of my own!
You’re are adorable in your last photo!
Hi Diane thanks! If you have a blog I’d love to check it out. I can’t wait to post my final pics. I’m getting close.
I found you through the runners lounge. thanks for your candor. I am at the beginning of a journey towards serious weight loss. Learning about the nitty gritty and successes of those who’ve taken on that challenge helps, alot, especially after Christmas and New Year’s
Hi Teresa,
Thanks for commenting on my blog. You look great, and I’m sure you feel great, too. Your blog is definitely inspiring. I know that if I keep at it, I will get to goal. Thanks for all the support!
I found your blog doing some “tag surfing” and I am so happy I did. You are really inspirational! I am amazed. I just started my blog and yours gave me some great ideas – it looks great. Take care

Fantastic blog and very inspiring how much weight you have lost, you look fantastic. Also just read your goals section for 2009, always good to set them higher so it pushes you. One of my goals is to get up at 5am 2 days a week to work on my personal websites (which I am doing right now)
My website is http://www.greatweightlifting.com would you be interested in exchanging links between our websites? I will be creating nutritional info, exercise plans, charts, videos & more as the site develops.
Let me know if you would like to exchange website links
Kind Regards
David
I ran across your blog looking at morning protein info.
I have arthritis and just started riding bike regularly.
It is much easier on my bones. But I am setting weekly goals,
knowing that some days I just won’t be able to deal with the pain (weather affects my joints) But by re-setting my mileage on my bike every Sat Morning I can be realistic and also meet my 50 mile (goal) each week, even if I have to do it in 5 mile rides.
I will look back and watch, I also had almost decided it was easier to carry the weight around. Anyway, thought I would share my goal and maybe someone else will glean an idea or two from it as I did from everyone else.
Fran
Hi, Teresa–
Your blog is one of the ones that’s most inspirational to me as I (re-)start this running thing, so thank you for that. I’ve added your blog to the list on my own. Thank you, and keep it up.
